Nashville is the "smartest place to live" in America according to Kiplinger’s Personal Finance Magazine. The houses are affordable, workers earn decent salaries and the cost of living is lower than average.
It costs 12 percent less to live in Nashville than it does to live in the typical American town, according to the American Chamber of Commerce Research Association (ACCRA). Nashvillians save the most on housing, which is 21 percent cheaper here than it is nationwide. Everything else seems affordable as well. Utilities are 12 percent less, health care is 14 percent less and groceries are nine percent less than the national averages.
This is just a sample of what you'll find in the complete Nashville guide.
