Association of Information Technology Professionals – Research Triangle Park Chapter

The AITP is the oldest organization representing information technology professionals in the United States and Canada. Since 1951, it has been dedicated to the advancement of the information processing profession by promoting the effective, responsible management of information technology to the benefit of its members, their employers and society. Members are provided with a wide range of opportunities for technical and management skills enhancement. Membership involves interaction with other computer professionals at the chapter level, region and association conferences and seminars, and technical and management certification programs.

The RTP chapter has served the greater Research Triangle Park community since it was chartered in 1952 and was recognized by the national association in 2004 as "The Regional Chapter of the Year." Chapter membership includes information technology managers, programming/systems engineers, researchers, consultants, sales and marketing managers, educators and publishers.
